What kind of courses are these?
These are all SkillSoft courses designed to provide skills for personal and professional development. They are commonly used in the government and in corporations for compliance, skills and developmental training.
How long are the courses?
The courses range from about one hour to a maximum of five hours. But once you start a class, you can stop at any time and the course will automatically start right where you left off.
Do I get a certificate for completing a course?
In the learning center, you can print a transcript to show you have completed your courses. It will also show the grade you received in the course(s). You may add the skills you acquire to your resume and use the transcript to verify that you posses the skills you have listed.
I am looking for courses that will lead to a specialized certification. Will these courses prepare me for the exam?
SkillSoft is recognized as a valid training venue for many certifications including Microsoft User certifications, IT certifications and project management certifications. You must first look at the certification requirements from the certifying organization and then look at the course descriptions to determine what courses you need to pass your certification exams.
Can I get college credit for these courses?
That is up to the college you wish to attend. We recommend that you check with the admissions officer before you begin a course of study if you wish to gain credit for the online courses.
